Bhubaneswar, Oct. 1 -- A major meeting on the long-standing Mahanadi water dispute is scheduled to be held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Odisha and Chhattisgarh Chief Ministers will attend the meeting as efforts continue to find a solution to the water-sharing issue between the two states.

The meeting comes amid ongoing discussions between Odisha and Chhattisgarh on sharing Mahanadi waters. The Central Water Commission (CWC) has been mediating between the two states as efforts are underway to work out a formula for water distribution.
