Bhubaneswar, May 28 -- Scores of elderly men and women were forced to queue outside the Mundamarai Panchayat office in the Aska area of Odisha's Ganjam district on Thursday, demanding the release of their pending pension payments under the Madhu Babu Pension Yojana.

According to reports, beneficiaries of the pension scheme have not received their monthly pension amount in their bank accounts for the last two months. The delay has left many senior citizens distressed, as several of them depend entirely on the pension money for their daily expenses and medicines.

With no clear information about when the funds will be credited, the beneficiaries have been repeatedly visiting both the panchayat office and nearby banks in search of answers. ...
