Bhubaneswar, May 8 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday issued alerts as a cyclonic circulation system approaching towards Odisha is likely bring widespread rainfall across the state. The circulation which developed over the South Andaman Sea, currently extends up to 1.5 kilometers above sea level.

Forecasters predict that it may intensify into a low-pressure area by the 12th or 13th May, with the potential to further develop into a depression in the following days.
