Low-pressure induced rain continues to batter Odisha; orange alert issued for several districts
Bhubaneswar, July 17 -- Continuous rainfall has persisted across Odisha due to an active low-pressure area over the northwest Bay of Bengal and the adjoining north Odisha-West Bengal coast. The weather system also triggered heavy downpours in several regions, with more intense showers expected today.
The Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre has issued a Yellow Warning for the prevailing weather conditions. Meteorologists stated that heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to continue at various places over till tomorrow.
For Friday, the Met office has issued an Orange Warning for seven districts in anticipation of heavy rainfall. These districts are Sonepur, Nuapada, Bolangir, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, and Sambalpur.
