Low-pressure area forms over Bay of Bengal, Odisha braces for more rain
Bhubaneswar, Aug. 29 -- A low-pressure area formed over the coastal region adjoining the Bay of Bengal on Saturday, leading to a fresh spell of rain across Odisha.
The system is likely to bring more rain to Odisha, with thunderstorms expected across several parts of the state. North Odisha is likely to receive heavy rainfall under its influence. The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) in Bhubaneswar issued an orange alert for six districts. The alert warns of heavy to very heavy rainfall in these areas.
Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara and Jagatsinghpur have been placed under an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall. A yellow alert has also been issued for 24 other districts.
