Bhubaneswar, June 27 -- In a heartbreaking tale from Totapada village under Athagarh block in Odisha's Cuttack district, a woman is battling immense hardship as her 19-year-old son, Sonu Barik, suffers from both kidney failure, mirroring the illness that claimed his father's life a decade ago.

Ranjita Barik lost her husband 10 years ago after he succumbed to kidney-related complications. Since then, she has been raising her son and daughter in extreme poverty, working hard to sustain the family.
