Bhubaneswar, April 14 -- In a significant ritual development at the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri, the deities will be placed on newly crafted 'Ratna Palankas' (bejewelled beds) starting from the Odia New Year on April 14.

As per temple authorities, three new Ratna Palanks have been constructed and adorned with silver plating. These will be ceremonially consecrated before being used for the deities' sayana (resting ritual). From Tuesday onwards, the deities will repose on these newly sanctified palanks as part of the daily rituals.
