Bhubaneswar, June 5 -- Police seized a liquor-laden pickup van and recovered 4,500 litres of liquor during raids on two illegal warehouses in Odisha's Balasore district on Thursday.

A pickup van carrying foreign liquor was intercepted at Jhadeswarpur under Jaleswar police station limits. However, the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled after noticing the police personnel.

A large quantity of foreign liquor was seized from the vehicle. The identitity of the driver was not established at the time of reporting. Efforts were also underway to ascertain the source and destination of the consignment.

Police conducted raids on two illegal liquor warehouses at Rajpur in Jaleswar.
