Bhubaneswar, Sept. 13 -- Nandankanan Zoological Park in Bhubaneswar reported the death of another cub born to lioness Maya on Thursday (September 10), just three days after its birth. The male cub died before it could open its eyes, leaving none of the two cubs born to Maya alive.

Maya, who became a mother for the first time, gave birth to two lion cubs on September 7. One of the cubs died on the day of its birth, while the second cub survived for three days before dying.

The three-day-old male cub had reportedly been unable to properly consume its mother's milk. Instead of passing through its mouth, the milk was coming out through its nose.
