Bhubaneswar, Sept. 10 -- A lion statue fell from the Laxmi Varaha Temple in Aul in Odisha's Kendrapara district on Thursday. The incident occurred after heavy rainfall lashed the area. The statue broke off from a portion of the temple around 65 feet above the ground.

According to reports, the statue fell to the ground in the morning, but fortunately, no devotees were injured in the incident.

Following the incident, concerns grew over the condition of the temple and the safety of devotees visiting the shrine. The fall of the statue from a considerable height also drew attention to the need for timely maintenance of the temple structure.
