Bhubaneswar, April 28 -- Two persons have been arrested for allegedly opposing the ongoing census exercise in the Kotia region of Koraput district have been released on bail, bringing renewed focus to the sensitive Odisha-Andhra Pradesh border dispute.

The arrests were made from Sembi village under Kotia panchayat after census officials reportedly encountered resistance during door-to-door enumeration. Officials said that some villagers refused to share information and allegedly obstructed the process, prompting a complaint and subsequent police action.

Later, an Andhra-based lawyer, accompanied by villagers and relatives, reached the Koraput Circle Jail and secured bail for the two accused.
