Bhubaneswar, Sept. 26 -- Train services on the Koraput route were affected after a high-voltage electricity tower collapsed near Maliguda railway station following strong winds and rain on Friday. The incident was accompanied by landslides, with soil falling onto the railway track and disrupting train movement.

The electricity tower was initially seen bending under the impact of the weather before gradually collapsing. Landslides were also reported at several points along the railway track, affecting the route.

Around 150 metres of soil has slipped in the Maliguda-Chhatriput area. In some places, the railway track has also sunk due to the landslide.
