Bhubaneswar, March 24 -- In a major boost to railway safety and speed, Indian Railways has commissioned the indigenous Kavach Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system on a crucial 190 route kilometre stretch between Prayagraj and Kanpur on the high-density Delhi-Howrah corridor. The system became operational on March 22, marking a significant step toward enabling train operations at speeds of up to 160 kmph on one of the busiest rail routes in the country.
