Bhubaneswar, Nov. 4 -- The Odisha Culture Department on Tuesday has approved Rs 3.30 crore for arrangements and facilities for devotees observing Kartika Brata in Puri this year. The funds will primarily be spent on providing accommodation and other necessary assistance to the Habishyalis during the month-long religious observance.

A large number of Habishyalis have gathered in the pilgrim town of Puri to observe the annual Kartika Brata. Special arrangements have been made at various Habishyali centres to ensure their safe and comfortable stay throughout the month.

The arrangements include accommodation facilities, darshan of Lord Jagannath, Mahaprasad and participation in bhajans, kirtans and other cultural programmes.
