Bhubaneswar, Feb. 28 -- In a major breakthrough, Kandhamal police on Saturday seized thousands of quintals of ganja hidden in forests across the district. During the raid conducted under Operation Neel Jahar, the police seized ganja worth around Rs 30 crore in over two days, targeting multiple police station jurisdictions.

The operation saw approximately 2,150 quintals of ganja confiscated from five police station areas. Specific seizures included 10,000 kg from Phulbani Sadar, 4,500 kg from Gochapada, 2,500 kg each from Baliguda and Phiringia, and 2,000 kg from K Nuagaon. Authorities are continuing investigations to identify the individuals responsible for hiding the ganja in forested areas.
