Bhubaneswar, June 7 -- A severe Kalbaisakhi storm that lashed Bhubaneswar on Saturday claimed one life and left two others injured. The deceased has been identified as Sagar Digal, a 33-year-old resident of Raikia in Kandhamal district.

According to reports, Sagar had completed his work and was on his way to have dinner when heavy rain and strong winds swept through the city.

In an attempt to protect himself from the downpour, he took shelter under a tree. However, the situation turned tragic when powerful gusts of wind caused a branch to break, snapping a nearby electric wire.
