Bhubaneswar, March 28 -- While intense heat prevails during the day, evenings across Odisha have been witnessing sudden thunderstorms and rainfall, with Kalbaisakhi storms wreaking havoc in several districts over the past few days.
According to the India Meteorological Department, a cyclonic circulation remains active over Odisha and its adjoining regions, triggering unstable weather conditions across the state. Under its influence, the department has forecast thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and hailstorms over the next seven days.
