Kalbaisakhi leaves trail of destruction in south Odisha
Bhubaneswar, June 12 -- A powerful Kalbaisakhi storm wreaked havoc across parts of south Odisha on Thursday night, causing widespread damage in Ganjam and Gajapati districts. Strong winds accompanied by heavy rain uprooted trees, damaged houses and disrupted power supply in several areas.
Sorada in Ganjam district was among the worst-affected regions, where the storm damaged public infrastructure and affected normal life. In neighbouring Gajapati district, strong winds blew away tin roofs of several houses, leaving residents scrambling for shelter.
