Bhubaneswar, June 1 -- Tamil Nadu politics may be on the cusp of another major shake-up. Former Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai is reportedly planning to quit the party and launch his own political movement. According to sources, the announcement is expected on June 2.

Political Rift and New Ambitions

Sources indicate that Annamalai will first start a people's movement, which could later evolve into a full-fledged political party. A Tamil Nadu BJP leader said the upcoming meeting with the national BJP president would be a courtesy call to thank the leadership, though many within the party hope Annamalai could be appointed Minister of State to retain him.
