Bhubaneswar, June 27 -- After a long legal battle spanning 11 years, justice has finally been delivered in a dowry death case in Kandhamal district in Odisha. The Phulbani court on Saturday pronounced strict punishment in the case involving the death of a woman, Meera Behera, who was allegedly subjected to severe dowry-related harassment.

The court sentenced the husband, Bijay Behera, to 10 years of imprisonment, while his father, mother, and two sisters have each been awarded seven years of jail term.
