JSW Group's Rs 40,000 Cr Odisha battery plant put on hold amid LFP technology challenge
Bhubaneswar, Aug. 27 -- The JSW Group put its proposed battery manufacturing plant in Odisha on hold as it continues its search for a technology partner for lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery cells. Parth Jindal, Director of JSW MG Motor India and Managing Director of JSW Cement and JSW Paints, made the statement in Mumbai on Wednesday.
According to a report by The Hindu, Jindal said that the group remains keen on manufacturing battery cells in India but has not yet secured a technology tie-up for LFP technology. He said that the project was therefore on hold.
