Job scam and sexual assault cases on rise in Bhubaneswar; four arrested, Women's Commission seeks report
Bhubaneswar, June 11 -- Cases of fraud and sexual assault under the pretext of providing jobs are witnessing a worrying rise in Bhubaneswar. In three separate incidents reported from the Capital, Dhauli and Khandagiri police station areas, police have arrested as many as four accused persons.
In one case, Dhauli police arrested Himanshu Samal, who allegedly posed as a police officer and deceived a 23-year-old woman by promising her a job and assuring her that he would help settle a fraud-related case involving her.
In another shocking incident under the Khandagiri police limits, a young woman alleged that she was gang-raped by three men inside a beauty parlour in the Jagamara area after being lured with the promise of employment. Police...
