Bhubaneswar, June 15 -- Chandrasekharpur Police on Monday arrested a man for allegedly duping a job aspirant of Rs 5.30 lakh on the promise of securing a ward boy position at AIIMS Bhubaneswar. The accused, identified as S. Baikuntha Patra, allegedly collected the money from the victim by assuring him of employment at the premier healthcare institution.

According to police, the amount was transferred through PhonePe as part of the purported recruitment deal. After receiving the money, the accused allegedly failed to provide the promised job and went into hiding, prompting the victim to approach the police.

Based on the complaint, Chandrasekharpur Police launched an investigation and subsequently tracked down and arrested Patra.
