Bhubaneswar, Sept. 4 -- Internationally renowned sand artist and Padma Shri awardee Sudarsan Pattnaik created a devotional sand sculpture of Bal Gopal (Little Krishna) at Odisha's Puri Beach on Thursday on the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami.

The 8-foot-tall artwork beautifully portrayed Little Krishna in a serene and divine form. It also carried the festive message "Happy Janmashtami."

The 8-foot-tall sculpture featured Bal Gopal along with his flute, a large Makhan handi and a cow resting beside him. The composition was further adorned with 101 miniature Makhan handis, celebrating the joyful and devotional spirit associated with Lord Krishna's childhood.
