Bhubaneswar, June 16 -- Bhubaneswar Cyber Police arrested two persons from Bolangir on Monday in connection with a Rs 7 lakh cyber fraud case in which fraudsters allegedly used a fake RTO challan message containing an APK file to gain access to a victim's phone and banking details. The arrested accused have been identified as Ayush Pandey and Harekrushna Kanwar.

According to police, the accused allegedly sent a fake traffic challan message carrying an APK file disguised as an official RTO notice. After the file was downloaded, the fraudsters gained access to sensitive information and siphoned off around Rs 7 lakh from the victim's account over two days.
