Bhubaneswar, Oct. 1 -- Residents of Dasarathpur block staged a protest on Thursday in front of the Jajpur Collector's office over recurring floods in the Baitarani river and a breach in the Kani river that has allegedly remained unrepaired for months in Jajpur district of Odisha.

The protesters came with an eight-point charter of demands and raised concerns over the problems being faced by people in the flood-affected areas. They alleged that residents of 19 panchayats under Dasarathpur block have been affected by flooding in the Baitarani river.
