Bhubaneswar, March 12 -- The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed that the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 will go ahead as planned. BCCI Vice-President and Congress MP Rajeev Shukla said the remaining match schedule will be announced after the Election Commission of India declares the dates for upcoming state assembly elections.
In a recent interview, Shukla stated that the board has already released the schedule for the initial phase of the tournament. He added that the fixtures for the remaining matches will be finalised once the election schedule for the states heading to polls becomes clear.
