Bhubaneswar, July 1 -- OdishaCrime Branch took three principal accused individuals on a two-day remand starting Wednesday to interrogate them regarding the murder of Government Railway Police (GRP) constable Soumyaranjan Swain at Balianta.

The agency, so far arrested a total of 20 individuals in connection with the fatal mob violence incident.

The three principal accused taken into custody have been identified as Panchanan Badajena, alias Kalia, Skylab Pati, and Bismaya Mohanty. On May 7, Swain was allegedly beaten to death by a mob near Ramachandrapur Kaj on the Hanspal-Nimapada Road.

The Crime Branch identified the perpetrators after establishing an evidentiary trail that linked them directly to the scene of the crime.
