Indian Railways announces 8 major changes; important information and updates for passengers
Bhubaneswar, July 15 -- Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Tuesday unveiled eight major reforms aimed at improving freight transportation, logistics, project execution and skill development in Indian Railways. The measures are part of the Ministry's ambitious '52 Reforms in 52 Weeks' initiative to modernise railway operations and enhance efficiency.
With the latest announcements, the number of reforms implemented under the initiative has reached 17 this year.
Speaking to the media, Vaishnaw said the reforms include both procedural and structural changes. While procedural reforms are internal, structural reforms have been introduced to improve services and facilitate industry participation.
