Bhubaneswar, April 21 -- In a major nationwide initiative to manage the annual surge in travel demand, Indian Railways has announced the operation of 18,262 summer special train trips between April 15 and July 15, 2026. The move is aimed at ensuring smooth, comfortable, and accessible travel for millions of passengers during the peak summer season.

According to official data, a total of 908 summer special trains have been approved for operation across the country. Out of these, 660 trains-accounting for 11,294 trips, have already been notified, allowing passengers to plan journeys well in advance.
