India bloc seeks CEC Gyanesh Kumar's removal, demands to halt SIR
Bhubaneswar, Oct. 10 -- A 10-member delegation of the opposition INDIA bloc met President Droupadi Murmu and submitted a memorandum seeking the removal of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar and a halt to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
The delegation included Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee and other opposition leaders. The bloc also demanded that future elections be conducted using ballot papers.
