Incessant rain washes away bridge; overflowing MIP inundates villages, farmlands in Odisha's Bolangir
Bhubaneswar, July 5 -- Relentless rainfall severely affected normal life in Odisha's Bolangir district on Sunday, with a bridge washed away and several villages inundated following the breach of an irrigation project.
The bridge connecting Ramud Chhak and Rautmunda in Turekela block was washed away after continuous rain, disrupting road connectivity and affecting the movement of people and vehicles.
Besides, the Gurjibhata Minor Irrigation Project (MIP) under Halanbhata gram panchayat allegedly breached due to excessive water inflow, sending floodwaters into nearby villages and agricultural fields.
