Bhubaneswar, April 25 -- An illegal gas godown was unearthed in Odisha's Cuttack Sadar area on Saturday, with police seizing around 500 cylinders during a raid. The operation was carried out at Brahmanjharilo following specific inputs about unauthorised storage and distribution.

The illegal gas trade was reportedly being conducted openly along the Phulnakhara-Niali State Highway No. 60. Acting on the information, Sadar police conducted a raid at the site and subsequently sealed the godown.

Police sources said the action was initiated based on a tip-off regarding the illegal operation. During the raid, authorities recovered a large number of gas cylinders, indicating the scale of the activity.
