Bhubaneswar, March 24 -- In a significant crackdown, customs officials have once again seized a large consignment of high-value cannabis from Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday. The illegal drugs were intercepted during the screening of passengers arriving from Bangkok, raising fresh concerns over international drug trafficking routes.
According to official sources, the seized contraband is estimated to be worth nearly Rs 6 crore in the international market. Acting on specific intelligence inputs, customs authorities carried out a detailed inspection, during which the narcotics were recovered from the possession of the accused.
