High-profile fraud arrested from Nepal border in Rs 5 crore fake car service scam in Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar, June 28 -- A high-profile fraud accused has been arrested by the Infocity Police in Bhubaneswar for allegedly duping hundreds of people by operating a fake car service company.
The accused, identified as Sachidananda Bhoi, was apprehended near the India-Nepal border after evading arrest for several months. Police said a Non-Bailable Warrant (NBW) had already been issued against him before he was tracked down and arrested.
According to police, Bhoi allegedly cheated around 250 people by collecting money in the name of a car service company. He is accused of defrauding several persons of nearly Rs 5 crore under the guise of business.
