Heavy rains trigger road blockages, landslides and waterlogging across Odisha
Bhubaneswar, July 2 -- Continuous heavy rainfall across Odisha has severely disrupted normal life in several districts, triggering widespread damage to infrastructure, road blockages, and waterlogging in both urban and rural areas. The incessant downpour has caused significant hardship for residents as multiple regions report deteriorating conditions.
In Cuttack district, a newly constructed six-lane road at Bhuasuni Gada has partially caved in due to the impact of relentless rains. A side wall along the road has also collapsed, with nearly 100 metres of the newly built stretch reportedly damaged. The incident has raised concerns over the structural stability of recently completed infrastructure in the region.
