Heavy rain lashes Odisha; Kalahandi records highest rainfall at 159 mm
Bhubaneswar, Sept. 11 -- Kalahandi recorded the highest rainfall in Odisha in the 24 hours ending at 8:30 am on Friday, with Golamunda receiving 159 mm of rain, according to the Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar.
The district dominated the top rainfall figures, with five of the six highest rainfall locations reported from Kalahandi.
Madanpur-Rampur in Kalahandi recorded 140 mm of rainfall, followed by Bhawanipatna with 139.8 mm during the period. Junagarh received 136.8 mm of rain, placing it fourth on the list.
The rainfall data showed Th. Rampur in Kalahandi receiving 117 mm. Malkangiri recorded 126.6 mm, making it the fifth-highest rainfall location in the state during the period.
