Bhubaneswar, Sept. 22 -- Rain continued across Gajapati district of Odisha on Monday, with the intensity increasing since morning after light drizzle was reported through the night.

In view of the heavy rainfall, a red warning has been issued for the district and people have been advised to remain alert. The administration has also directed BDOs and tehsildars of all blocks to closely monitor the situation and take immediate action if required.

With Gajapati having several landslide-prone areas, the administration is keeping a special watch on 140 identified locations across the district. Officials are monitoring the situation closely in view of the continuing rain.
