Bhubaneswar, Sept. 23 -- The East Coast Railway has stepped up its preparedness in Odisha following the possibility of heavy rainfall after the depression intensified over the region.

The railway authorities are keeping a close watch on the situation and have put several emergency measures in place across Odisha.

A 24-hour Disaster Management Cell has been opened at Rail Sadan in Bhubaneswar to monitor the weather situation and coordinate the railway's response.

At the same time, 24-hour emergency control rooms are functioning at the divisional headquarters in Khurda, Sambalpur and Rayagada.
