Bhubaneswar, March 12 -- Heat conditions intensified across Odisha on Thursday as the maximum (day) temperatures continued to rise in several parts of the State, with Jharsuguda emerging as the hottest place.
According to weather data, Jharsuguda recorded the highest temperature at 40.8 Degrees Celsius. Other places also experienced high temperatures, including Hirakud at 39.2degC, while both Sambalpur and Sundargarh recorded around 39degC. In the coastal belt, Bhubaneswar recorded 38.6degC, while Cuttack registered 35.6degC.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the day temperature has begun rising from today and is likely to increase further by 2 to 3 Degrees Celsius within the next 24 hours.
