Bhubaneswar, Sept. 28 -- It may look like a classroom, but the students here are not children. They are young elephants learning to respond to commands, interact with their handlers and get used to human care.

At the Kumarkhunti Elephant Training Centre, elephants are given special care and training after being rescued from difficult situations.

Among them, baby elephant Jagannath has become a major attraction for visitors with his adorable responses to his mahout's commands.

Jagannath has been trained to respond to simple instructions. When his handler extends a hand, he offers a handshake and even gives a salute.
