Bhubaneswar, Sept. 28 -- Floodwaters from the Subarnarekha River have disrupted normal life in several areas of Balasore district in Odisha. But even the flooding could not stop a wedding in Bhograi, where the groom had to take a boat to reach his wedding venue.

The unusual scene was witnessed in Manunagar village under Bhograi block. Hemanta Patra, son of Rabindra Patra, was dressed in traditional wedding attire when he set out by boat to attend his wedding.

With floodwater covering the route, travelling by road was not possible. The groom therefore took a boat through the Subarnarekha floodwaters. The sight of a groom in wedding attire travelling by boat drew attention in the flood-hit area.
