Bhubaneswar, Aug. 14 -- The Odisha government on Friday warned of action if cannabis cultivation is found on government land and directed officials to prevent such activity in six districts. The Revenue Secretary has written to the Collectors of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Boudh and Gajapati, asking them to ensure closer monitoring of government land.

The move is aimed at preventing illegal cannabis cultivation and ensuring prompt reporting whenever such cultivation is detected. The Revenue Secretary has also directed field-level revenue officials to remain alert and take necessary steps.
