Bhubaneswar, April 8 -- Gold prices in Bhubaneswar witnessed a notable surge today, following the announcement of a ceasefire in ongoing global tensions. 

As of April 8, 2026, the price of 24K gold per gram in the city stands at Rs 15,382, marking an increase of Rs 398. 

The 22K gold is priced at Rs 14,100, up by Rs 365, while 18K gold has reached Rs 11,537, rising by Rs 299 per gram, according to Goodreturns.

This spike comes as markets react to the relief brought by the ceasefire, with investors seeking safer assets amidst global uncertainties. 

The price increase follows a sharp decline over the past two days in the lead-up to the Reserve Bank of India's monetary policy committee meeting.
