Giant python rescued from Shiva temple in Odisha's Ganjam
Bhubaneswar, May 22 -- An 8-foot python was rescued from inside a Shiva temple near Sonapur Beach in Chikiti area of Odisha's Ganjam district on Thursday evening.
The snake was first spotted by the temple priest inside the temple premises. Following the sighting, villagers immediately alerted the Forest Department for assistance.
After receiving information, Forest Department personnel along with members of the Snake Helpline team reached the spot and carried out a rescue operation. The python was safely rescued from the temple and later released into a nearby forest area.
Officials said the rescue operation was completed without any injuries or damage.
