Bhubaneswar, Oct. 31 -- The flood situation in Aska block of Ganjam district in Odisha is gradually improving, but normal life remains disrupted. Around five feet of water is still flowing through Laxmi Bazar, Binoba Marg and Taluka Road, though the water level has started declining.

Residents said that they were forced to move to the terraces of their houses as floodwater entered their homes and continued to rise. Three local residents described the difficulties they faced during the flooding.

"We had to move to the terrace as floodwater entered our house. We were scared as the water level kept rising. We have no food and are waiting for help," said a local resident.
