Bhubaneswar, June 2 -- The alleged custodial death of a man at Kabisuryanagar Police Station in Odisha's Ganjam district has drawn the attention of National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), which sought a detailed report from the district administration and police authorities on Tuesday.

The NHRC has issued notices to the Ganjam District Collector and Superintendent of Police (SP), seeking answers on 14 specific aspects related to the incident. The commission has also directed the authorities to explain what actions have been taken so far and questioned why it was allegedly not informed within the stipulated 24-hour period following the 'custodial death'.
