Ganesh immersion turns tense in Cuttack, 6 police personnel injured in stone-pelting
Bhubaneswar, Oct. 1 -- Six police personnel, including the Inspector-in-Charge (IIC), were injured after stones were hurled at them during a Ganesh immersion procession in Baradia village under Mahanga police station limits in Odisha's Cuttack on Wednesday night.
According to reports, the incident occurred after police objected to the use of a high-volume sound system after 10 pm. The stone-pelting triggered tension in the village. Two police vehicles were also damaged in the incident.
The situation turned tense during the Ganesh immersion procession, with police personnel coming under attack. The officials sustained minor injuries and were taken for medical treatment.
