Bhubaneswar, Sept. 23 -- From an initial monthly salary of Rs 500 when he joined government service in 1994 to Rs 52,320 today, the asset trail of Bargarh PEO Kartikeswar Behera has raised questions during an ongoing Odisha Vigilance disproportionate assets (DA) case.

Behera, who has spent more than three decades in government service, is currently posted as PEO of Katabhal Gram Panchayat under Gaisilet Block. Vigilance searches have so far uncovered a string of properties linked to him and his family members, including multiple multi-storeyed buildings, a market complex, a godown and 30 plots.
