Two incidents recently have unsettled the citizens of Odisha and raise very disturbing questions about administrative accountability. The first relates to Dhiman Chakma and the second relates to Sricharana Das.

Dhiman Chakma is a 2021-batch IAS officer from Tripura. He was posted as Sub-Collector Dharamgarh, in Kalahandi district, Odisha. A person running a stone crusher unit in the area complained that he was demanding 20 lakh rupees for the required permission to operate his stone crusher unit.
